PMI commenced in Australia in 1994 and in 006 has approximately 5000 members from a mixture of industries including: finance, IT, telecommunications, consulting and pharmaceutical.  Approximately 40% of Australian PMI's members are PMPs.  PMI is strongly supported by a majority of companies in Australia and internationally. Sydney PMI Chapter is currently the largest Australian chapter with over 1200 members. The Sydney Chapter conducts regular chapter meetings, education and certification courses and runs an annual conference in an effort to further the profession of Project Management within NSW and Australia.
