Business Case for Agility
Description Speaker(s)

This session explores and explains how Agility drives highest value creation using real life examples. Attendees will learn how Agility can be applied effectively through Lean management principles and Agile processes that support continuous business-value prioritization and assessment.  An overview of iterative development from the tactical and strategic level is provided and a discussion of how to derive the greatest benefits from test-driven development practices, refactoring and Scrum processes in a way that best serves the organization’s needs and objectives.

Learning Objectives:

  • To understand the business case for Lean-Agile software development practices and how Agility can be leveraged
  • To learn how Agility enables the creation of a sustainable flow of value within one’s own organization by eliminating waste, building in value and magnifying learning and how localizing responsibilities and writing adaptable code can deliver the right value faster thereby optimizing the whole
  • To understand the requirements and challenges of successful adoption of Agile processes and the importance of lean management principles to help guide Agile adoption and avoid the common pitfalls

Alan has a proven performance record with corporations such as: EDS, Computer Associates, IBM, Cable Wireless, Telia, Deutsche Telekom, AT&T, Calvin Klein, OMO Norma Kamali, as well as entrepreneurial startups.  His industry expertise spans the Manufacturing, Telecommunications, Technology, Finance, Energy, and Distribution industries.  Alan is a Certified ScrumMaster, a member of TIE – The Indus Entrepreneurs organization.  He is a graduate with honors from Columbia University’s Computer Technology and Application Masters program and a recognized expert in Agility with a successful track record of facilitating enterprise initiatives through the use of Lean-Agile principles and processes.
