Keynote Presentation - So You Think You’re a Good Listener?
Description Speaker(s)

The ability to listen effectively is one of the most important tools that every Business Analyst needs.   Trouble is...we all take this for granted.  This keynote presentation will help you understand that listening is both an art and a science and it will help you become a better listener.

Research has identified 5 specific listening approaches and that each of us may have strong preferences for using one or more of these on a regular basis.  A good listener understands that there are options and that each situation may require a different listening approach.

If you’ve ever had someone say to you “You’re just not listening to me!!!”, or words to that effect, and you believed you really were listening, odds are, you were using the wrong listening approach, which resulted in an inappropriate response, from the perspective of the other party.

This presentation will significantly improve your listening skills by helping you learn more about the 5 listening approaches, when it’s appropriate to use each, and the impact these can have on the effectiveness of your communication.

Brad Jobe, Integro Learning Co.

Brad has been presenting and facilitating since the mid 70’s and has in more recent years been engaged as a speaker.

‘Listening’ is one of his favorite topics especially since he became aware of the 5 different Listening approaches some 8 years ago. This information helped him gain insights into why some of his conversations regularly led to unsatisfactory outcomes. Since then he has helped hundreds of people gain similar insights to enable them to become more effective listeners, and therefore more effective communicators.
