Don Imholz
Ouellette & Associates

Don Imholz, a senior associate for O&A, trains and consults nationally for the firm. The depth and breadth of his background enables him to consult in a number of industries and in a number of areas.
Imholz was most recently vice president of Information Technology for The Boeing Company, retiring in January 2008. His duties included responsibility for the design and support of all Systems for Boeing. This included applications supporting engineering, manufacturing, finance, supplier management and procurement, product support, sales and marketing, and various other areas. In addition, Imholz was responsible to the Boeing Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) Business Unit, ensuring the quality and cost-effectiveness of all information technology services provided to the largest Boeing Business Unit.
Imholz began his career with McDonnell Douglas in 1975, advancing through several positions within and outside information technology, including assignments in systems development, project management, program management, corporate information systems and data center management. From 1986 to 1988, he led all information technology activities for the Advanced Tactical Fighter Program. He then was Director Information Management as part of Company Offices staff. He moved to the McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Information Services (MDAIS) Company in 1998 as director of business management, and was named general manager of MDAIS in 1991.
Moving to McDonnell Aircraft and Missiles in 1993, Imholz led the Information technology organization there. After executive assignments outside of information technology in finance and manufacturing in 1995-1997, he was appointed to lead the Boeing Aircraft and Missiles Information Technology organization, and later all information technology for Integrated Defense Systems as internal organizational consolidations took place.
Imholz holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri in St. Louis, and was recently honored with the UMSL College of Business Administration Distinguished Alumni Award. He also holds a master’s degree in information systems management and an executive master’s degree in business administration, both from Washington University in St. Louis. He also attended executive training at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and at the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
Imholz is currently on the board and is past chairman of the board of directors for the Center for the Application of Information Technology, and is a member of the Advisory Board for the Masters of Information Management Program for Washington University. He taught extensively as part of the adjunct faculty at Webster University and developed its information systems curriculum. Imholz is also on the board of directors for the Family Resource Center, a non-profit organization providing a broad range of social services in the St. Louis area.
